How To Get Started with Library eBooks

I have been doing workshops all month long and many eReader owners are now reading free ebooks from the library.  If you have not been able to attend one of the classes, we will be doing more classes in September.  But what if you can’t wait till then?  I’m making available the booklet I provide in the class which is very detailed.

I hope this makes it easier for you to get started with Library eBooks.

Stanza Application for Viewing eBook Titles

Overdrive eBook titles (either ePUB, PDF DRM or MobiPocket eBook) require either Mobipocket Reader or Adobe Digital Editions to both view and download. However, there is another software application for reading a non-DRM e-books (such as the Gutenberg Project ebooks) on the Apple iTouch, iPhone or iPad.

Stanza is an ePub software reader and converter that is fast, light-weight, and simple. It provides a highly customizable reading experience, with the ability to quickly change text size (with a slider in the settings, or using pinch and reverse pinch), adjust line and margin spacing, bookmarks, and choose from many different fonts. It is a free application available at the iTunes store.

Additionally, is has a Get books option for searching for free books from sites such as Project Gutenberg, Harlequin, All Romance eBooks, Feedbooks and more.

iPad and ebooks

Do any of the ebooks play on an iPad?  If so, what software do I need to install?

ePub format for ebooks and MP3 format for eaudio books work on the ipad.  You need to sse the OverDrive App from either OverDrive  or the Apple Store.

You may want to start with My Help!   This will walk you through the entire process.
